Fall Sports Registration

Registration for all Fall sports will be held on Saturday, July 19; Saturday, July 26; and Saturday, August 2 from 9:00 AM to Noon at the Fern Bell Rec Center (Gym). Registration is for the following sports: Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Fall Baseball and Fall Softball.

Congratulations to Coach Wirick and the 10/11-yr old American All-Stars for winning the District 8 Championship.American beat Eastern 14-4 at Riggs Field in Huntsville on Monday, July 7th, 2008.It’s off to Sylacauga, Alabama for the State Tournament for our boys!The State Tournament is scheduled to begin on 7/19/08.Let’s try to make the trip to support them if possible.

11/12 All Stars are District 8 Champions!

Coach Johnson's 11/12 All Star team are the District 8 Tournament Champions! American defeated Eastern 9-2 in the finals at Mayfair Park. We won 8-1 Monday evening at Mayfair Park and lost 6-2 Thurs evening. Go American! We play the Winner the State Championship game between District 7 and District 4. Our game is at 5:30 on Sunday evening July 20th in Sheffield. Please support our 10/11s or our 11/12s in the State Tournament!

2008 6U City Champions

The American League Orange Crush won the 2008 6U Huntsville softball championship! The team's head coach was Darin Dunaway, with assistants Russ Davis and Steve Davis.
Players on the team were: Kate Burnette, Abigail Dunaway, Paige McLelland, Emily Dunaway, Seth Davis, Austin Latham, Brandon Okweye, Brittany Okweye, Kelsey Quillin, Kennedy Caselberry, Julia Burns, Mary Bragg, Payton Davis and Sophie McRoy.
The American League Orange Crush beat the Eastern Pink Tigers, managed by Coach Mathis, 12-11 in 3 innings at the 6:00 game at the Sports Plex. Brittany Okweye homered in the 1st inning to start the scoring for the Orange Crush. Emily Dunaway got the game tying RBI with a hit in the bottom of the 3rd when she drove in Paige McLelland. Seth Davis got the game winning RBI when he drove in Kennedy Casselberry with no outs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to end the game.

Car Broken Into at Park

Tues May 6th, we had a board member watch two guys look into cars parked at the top of the hill. As he took down their license number they got into their car and drove away. When he inspected the car the two seemed interested in, he found a purse and set of keys were on the front seat. We're going to file this with the police and hopefully have police protection in our parking lot. Please help us monitor strange activity in our parking lots.
BE SMART, DO NOT LEAVE THINGS THAT MIGHT INTEREST A THIEF IN PLAIN SIGHT, EVEN IF YOUR CAR IS LOCKED.
On Tuesday evening at Fern Gully, a car parked up the steps at Whitesburg Middle School was broken into. The window was smashed and a purse and cell phone were stolen. By the time the owner of the vehicle found out, a credit card had already been used at several nearby gas stations.
Please hide any valuables left in your vehicle or lock them in the trunk, to avoid giving a thief any reason to think they want to break into your car.
