11/12 All Stars are District 8 Champions!

Coach Johnson's 11/12 All Star team are the District 8 Tournament Champions! American defeated Eastern 9-2 in the finals at Mayfair Park. We won 8-1 Monday evening at Mayfair Park and lost 6-2 Thurs evening. Go American! We play the Winner the State Championship game between District 7 and District 4. Our game is at 5:30 on Sunday evening July 20th in Sheffield. Please support our 10/11s or our 11/12s in the State Tournament!

Coaches: Bryan Johnson, Rob Jones, Jamey Mann, Jay McLelland

Players: Cameron Kilgore, Michael Holloway, Clay Johnson, Ryan Jones, Blake Mann, Reed McLelland, Tanner Dunaway, Scott Traller, Rick Perez, Kevin Sommers, Johnny Komara, Russ Daniels.

Good luck to the American League All Star Teams. The 10-11 year old team is going to State and the 12 year old team is playing tonight to win the district championship and go to state. Win one for Kate!

2008 6U City Champions

The American League Orange Crush won the 2008 6U Huntsville softball championship!  The team's head coach was Darin Dunaway, with assistants Russ Davis and Steve Davis.

Players on the team were: Kate Burnette, Abigail Dunaway, Paige McLelland, Emily Dunaway, Seth Davis, Austin Latham, Brandon Okweye, Brittany Okweye, Kelsey Quillin, Kennedy Caselberry, Julia Burns, Mary Bragg, Payton Davis and Sophie McRoy.

The American League Orange Crush beat the Eastern Pink Tigers, managed by Coach Mathis, 12-11 in 3 innings at the 6:00 game at the Sports Plex.  Brittany Okweye homered in the 1st inning to start the scoring for the Orange Crush.  Emily Dunaway got the game tying RBI with a hit in the bottom of the 3rd when she drove in Paige McLelland.  Seth Davis got the game winning RBI when he drove in Kennedy Casselberry with no outs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to end the game.

WiFi Hotspot!

Huntsville American League is proud to announce that Fern Bell Park now features a WiFi hotspot, for the convenience and enjoyment of all the patrons of our Fern Gully ball fields.  The hotspot is free, and is located in the Fern Gully concession stand, and will be present throughout the Spring 2008 baseball and softball season.
